POMEGRANATE SEED OIL

(Punica granatum)

Pomegranate seed oil is ideal in nourishing and improving skin elasticity (especially fine lines). High in anti-oxidants, it is extremely moisturising.  

Pure, cold pressed pomegranate nourishes the skin and balances the pH effect while protecting the skin from free radicals. Pomegranate oil is an excellent oil for eczema, psoriasis and mature, sunburned or aging skin.   Pomegranate seed oil may provide quick relief from irritated, dry or cracked skin.  

The Pomegranates contain between 100 – 200 seeds in each fruit. The seeds weigh ~ 10grammes. The fruits are grown by small, individual farmers in South India, in the Karnataka and Maharashtra regions. At harvest time the fruits are collected by hand. After juicing, the seeds are dried and cold-pressed for the oil - it takes around 100 pomegranates to produce 1kg of seed and it takes around 7kg of seed to produce 1kg of oil. Pomegranate seed oil has a beautiful golden clarity and a pleasing, nutty scent.
